Dudley Council MOT Test Centre Launched

Dudley Council has launched an MOT test centre for members of the public at its Brierley Hill garage.

The council garage based at Narrow Boat Way in Brierley Hill, looks after the fleet of council vehicles, using the latest computerised testing equipment. It is now offering MOT testing to members of the public. It is a DVSA approved MOT test centre offering independent testing by fully trained motor vehicle technicians.

The cost for a Class 4 vehicle (car) is £45, eighteen per cent less than the DVSA optimum fee charged. There is a comfortable waiting area where drivers can wait and are able to view their MOT inspection via a live monitor.

The centre will carry out MOTs but not repairs. There is therefore no incentive for technicians to find faults which may not exist, or to fail vehicles unnecessarily. It is a truly impartial, stringently run MOT. Any MOT retests carried out within ten days will be free of charge. Councillor Hilary Bills, cabinet member for environmental services, said:

“Our council run MOT test centre is run to rigorous, professional standards and is responsible for the council’s fleet of varied vehicles. By now offering MOTs to Dudley borough residents we are offering a valued, impartial and honest service for local drivers”.

To book an MOT, call the test centre on 01384 815101 or 815377. Cash or cards are accepted.
