Dudley driver admits causing motorway smash

A driver from has Dudley has admitted causing a pile-up on the M6 which left one man hospitalised for months.

Andrew Hallbrook’s lorry was involved in a crash with another HGV and a car, between junctions 3 and 2 of the M6 southbound in March.

Motorist Martin Brannigan was trapped in his car following the crash and had to be cut free before being rushed to hospital.

45 year-old Hallbrook, of Donnington Court, was charged with being responsible for the pile-up, which led to the southbound carriageway being closed for almost five hours.
