Dudley Zoo encourage you to love your zoo this half term

Dudley Zoo and Castle is encouraging visitors to ‘Love Your Zoo’ this May half term.

From May 24 until June 1, the Castle Hill attraction is joining BIAZA zoo collections across the UK in showcasing how we can all be ‘Allies for Wildlife’.

Throughout the school holidays visitors can find out more about the variety of animal conservation projects the zoo supports across the globe in a trail around the 40-acre site, for the chance to win an animal adoption of their choice.

DZC Zoo Manager, Matt Lewis, said: “Love Your Zoo Week is a great opportunity for us to showcase the fantastic conservation and education work zoos carry out in their bid to help save species around the world.

"But we're also a great day out for the family too, with a castle to explore, a vintage chairlift and land train to ride and a brand new castle-themed playground for our younger visitors to enjoy."

Daily activities also include crafting thank you cards for the zoo’s conservation partners and zoo keepers in the Discovery Centre, as well as a packed programme of animal talks.

That’s all in addition to seeing some amazing animals, including Bornean orangutans, giraffes, rainbow lorikeets, lemurs, tigers and the zoo’s newest arrivals - baby reindeer, baby wolverines and painted dogs.
