Dudley Zoo and Castle is set to celebrate incredible people making a difference to wildlife.
The charity is asking for nominations of people who make a difference to wildlife in their local community, in a bid to be named a ‘Wildlife Champion’ at the zoo’s upcoming ‘Festival of Change’.
The event, which is taking place in June in the courtyard of Dudley Castle will celebrate wildlife, conservation and the positive actions people in the community take to help nature and will include a variety of hands-on activities.
DZC’s Conservation and Development Co-ordinator, Jack Williams, said: “You might know someone who litter picks in your neighbourhood or volunteers in local ‘in-bloom’ groups.
“If they are making a difference to wildlife in your local community, then we want to hear about them!”
The top 50 wildlife champions will each receive four free tickets to the zoo’s festival, which has been made possible thanks to funding from the Richardson Brothers Foundation.
The top ten champions will also be showcased in an exhibition across the zoo site over the summer months. Nominations are open until April 30, with wildlife champions aged seven and over able to be put forward.
The nomination form can be found on the zoo’s website.
