Ex-boxer spared jail for Stourbridge pub assault

A former boxer from Kidderminster has avoided jail for punching a man in a Stourbridge pub because his victim could not be contacted.

A judge ruled Mark Harris could only been allowed to keep his freedom because police had been unable to get hold of victim Luke Barnett.

Harris, of Worcester Road, admitted causing grievous bodily harm to Mr Barnett who was attacked in Lloyds bar.

He was given a 12 month jail term suspended for 18 months.
