Family fun day comes to Brierley Hill

Businesses and communities are coming together for a huge fun-packed family day out in Brierley Hill.

The Brier Fair will take place as part of the Black Country Festival on Saturday July 22nd.  

A funfair and market stalls will run along the High Street, a giant sandpit and water games will be located in the Moor Shopping Centre, street performers will roam the town centre and local acts on stage and Black Country Radio will keep visitors entertained. 

This new event is being led by Dudley Council in partnership with local organisations, including the Brierley Hill Community Forum. Councillor Ian Kettle, cabinet member for planning and economic development, said:

“This event is proving to be a pleasure because of the fantastic support that local people are giving to make sure that it will be a success. Community groups, interested individuals, shops, other businesses and organisations of all shapes and sizes have united to guarantee an amazing day in Brierley Hill.”

The Brier Fair is being run with support from Brierley Hill Community Forum, Asda Brierley Hill, Euro Parking Services, London and Cambridge Properties - which owns the Moor Shopping Centre, The Black Country Festival, Black Country Radio, Brierley Hill Stakeholders Group, Brierley Hill town centre traders - including Brierley Hill Indoor Market, Dudley Council for Voluntary Service, Brierley Hill Library, Brierley Hill Adult Learning, intu Merry Hill, Dudley Building Society, Dudley Zoological Gardens, Churches Together, The Warehouse, Transport For The West Midlands, LSD Promotions, Thomas Jones Fun Fairs and the performers who will be giving their time for free on the day.   

The Brier Fair will take place from 9am – 5pm. Bus routes to Brierley Hill town centre will continue as normal to diverted bus stops.
