The Mayor of Dudley has been supporting final preparations for this Saturday’s bonfire and fireworks event, which takes place at Himley Hall.
Principal sponsor, Wates Living Space, joined the Mayor on his tour, where they took the opportunity to do a wildlife check around the bonfire pallets.
The legendary fun night out for all the family promises to once again light up the night’s sky with this year’s theme ‘To the Moon and Back’. Offering a spectacular pyrotechnic display, the Dudley Council organised event will celebrate 50 years since the Apollo 11 mission created history by being the first ever manned moon landing.
Advanced online ticketing means that people can still buy discounted tickets online - standard adult tickets cost £10, standard child and senior citizen's are £5.50 and a family ticket (two adults, two children) is £24.
Following on from its popularity of last year, the event will boast a premium viewing area on the South Lawns near the hall with a private bar, gourmet food, a lit marquee, large screen with live entertainment and elevated views. Full details can be found at himleyhallandpark.co.uk/bonfire.
In addition there will be a unique night market as well as a giant funfair, live entertainment and seasonal refreshments. The Mayor of Dudley Councillor David Stanley said:
"It was great to see all the work and preparation at Himley Hall and Park today, we didn’t see any wildlife on our walk around the bonfire pallets but the teams will continue to check right up until the event.
"I would like to remind everyone that tickets are still on sale and that people can save significant amounts off the gate price when they book online now."
Gates open at 4.30pm, with the bonfire being lit at 7.45pm and a 25 minute fireworks display is at 8.30pm.
