First look at The History Boys in rehearsal at Wolverhampton Grand Theatre

Wolverhampton Grand Theatre has released rehearsal photos for for the brand new in-house production of Alan Bennett’s 'The History Boys' which runs at the venue from 7th – 22nd February 2020.

The cast includes Ian Redford, who plays Hector, Jeffrey Holland as the Headmaster, Victoria Carling as Mrs Lintott and Lee Comley playing Irwin.

Redford is known for his TV roles including Keith Appleyard in Coronation Street and Ken Raynor in BBC's EastEnders. Jeffrey Holland played Danny in the Grand Theatre’s 2017 production of Brassed Off and starred in the theatre’s recent pantomime - Dick Whittington. Victoria Carling is known for her role as Mrs Goodman in The 4 O’Clock Club for BBC and Lee Comley was recently seen in Years And Years for BBC/HBO and can currently be seen presenting for ITV News Central across the Midlands. Chief Executive and Artistic Director of the Grand Theatre, Adrian Jackson said:

“This is our third in house production at Wolverhampton Grand and the first time Alan Bennett has been performed here in two decades. It’s hugely exciting to present our own production of such a masterpiece and our cast are creating something very special which is both highly entertaining, incredibly thought-provoking. This production is unique to the Grand Theatre and a highlight of our season.”

The production is directed by Jack Ryder, who is a household name, most loved for his portrayal of Jamie Mitchell in EastEnders from 1998 to 2002. Jack’s acting career spans across theatre, television and film and he can currently be seen as Evan Crowhurst in Holby City.
