West Midlands Police have arrested five men in connection with the fatal shooting of a man in Wolverhampton on Tuesday.

Police acted on information and detained them from a car in Birmingham last night. The men, aged between 19 and 48, have been arrested on suspicion of murder and are now in custody for questioning.

It follows the tragic death of a man in his 20s who was shot in Eastfield Grove at just after 3.20pm on Tuesday. A second man has also been receiving hospital treatment for gunshot wounds.

Detective Superintendent Shaun Edwards, from our major crime unit, said: "A young man has tragically lost his life and we've teams working round-the-clock to establish exactly what happened and why.

"This is a significant development in our investigation and we'd continue to ask anyone with information to contact us.”

If people saw anything or have any mobile phone, doorbell or dashcam footage, get in touch with West Midlands Police as soon as possible via 101 or Live Chat, quoting 3288 of 04/03.

There is also a dedicated website where people can send video, images and other information.
