Former headteacher arrested on child pornography charges

A former headteacher of a school in the West Midlands has pleaded guilty to possessing indecent images of children.

Russell Bond, aged 41, from Walsall, appeared at Birmingham Magistrates on August 6 where he pleaded guilty to one charge of possessing indecent images. He was arrested at his home on 19 January last year.
 
Bond, who is now a registered sex offender and will be closely monitored, will appear back at court at a later date for sentencing. 
 
A spokesperson said: “We are aware that this matter has been the subject of speculation within the local community and across social media.
 
”We can confirm the offences were unconnected to the school where he been in employment.”
