Free Panto at Christmas Lights Switch On's this weekend

Free pantomime performances, funded by Dudley Business First, will take place during the Christmas lights switch on events in Dudley and Brierley Hill on Saturday.

Dudley's switch on event will start at midday, with live entertainment on stage, and Black Country Radio broadcasting live.

Showings of Sleeping Beauty will take place at 2.30 and 4pm in the Fountain Arcade and the lights will be switched on at 5pm by the Mayor of Dudley and Kath Stanczyszyn from BBC Radio WM.

In Brierley Hill town centre, Christmas festivities start at 9am and will include live entertainment and funfair rides. There will be a performance of Sleeping Beauty at 11am in the market.

Father Christmas will switch the light's on at 5pm, and there is an opportunity to pop down to Carols on the Canal at Delph Nine Locks which starts at 5.30pm. Councillor Sue Greenaway, the Mayor of Dudley, said:

“With free pantomimes and live entertainment on stage, these events are bound to bring some festive cheer to the towns ahead of the big day.

“I’d urge people to come along and celebrate with us and if they can, support the small businesses as art of Small Business Saturday this weekend.”

People do not need to book tickets for the pantomimes in advance.

Free car parking will also be available on Dudley Council operated car parks.
