Free support and advice at Merry Hill event

People can get advice and support on staying safe and well in their homes at a free event at the Merry Hill Centre this month.

The event is in the lower mall near the customer service desk on Friday October 17 from 9am to 3pm.

Members of the Living Well Feeling Safe Partnership, which is led by Dudley Council and supported by local organisations, including West Midlands Police, West Midlands Fire Service and local and national charities, will be on hand throughout the day.

The team works to support vulnerable or older people to stay safe, healthy, well and independent in their homes.
During the event, they will talk to people about how to feel healthier, beat feelings of loneliness and make improvements around the home.

They can also direct people to dementia support and help for unpaid carers and provide information about a range services, including falls prevention, weight management, home and personal safety and crime prevention.

Councillor Andrea Goddard, cabinet member for adult social care, said: “These events are always warmly welcomed by the community, bringing together caring teams from the council and partner agencies who are ready to listen and offer helpful advice on a variety of important topics.

"The Living Well Feeling Safe Partnership is dedicated to supporting vulnerable and older adults, helping them feel safe, healthy, and confident in their homes and neighbourhoods.

"This event is a chance for people to connect face-to-face with friendly advisors, have a relaxed conversation about their needs and discover the support available to help them live comfortably and independently.
