Groups are invited to bid for grants of up to £41,000 after Dudley Council was awarded nearly £250,000 to boost culture and heritage across the borough.
The council has received £247,500 from West Midlands Combined Authority’s Cultural and Creative Investment Programme. The funding is designed to support and upgrade cultural and heritage infrastructure across Dudley, with the aim of increasing cultural experiences and participation in activities for residents and visitors of all ages.
Groups and organisations are being invited to bid for grants of up to £41,665 for projects to upgrade and enhance cultural assets and spaces, such as buildings or venues, or provide equipment to support them to deliver activities.
Applicants will need to demonstrate their project would deliver positive change, such as supporting increased visitor numbers or increased participation in cultural or creative activities.
Full details of the grants scheme and eligibility criteria for applicants is available on the Regenerating Dudley website. The closing date for applications is 27 July at 5pm.
Councillor Damian Corfield, cabinet member for neighbourhoods, said: “Dudley has a rich and diverse cultural heritage and this funding is a fantastic opportunity to create new and lasting opportunities for the future.
“These grants will help organisations enhance spaces and develop activities to reach more people than ever before. We are keen to see projects that inspire residents of all ages, create experiences, attract visitors and make a lasting difference to our communities.
“I’d encourage organisations to visit our Regenerating Dudley website to find out more, check the criteria and apply.”
