Halesowen park made secure against travellers

Work to secure a Halesowen park from illegal traveller’s camps has finally been completed.

Hurst Green Park has been invaded three times by travellers, and cost taxpayers thousands of pounds in clean-up costs, and security measures.

The park was given a facelift and new security in September 2014 but caravans found a way in again last June.

Since then, more security has been added. Halesowen North councillor Hilary Bills said significant work had been done to stop travellers gaining further illegal access.
