A play area at The Bernard Oakley Memorial Gardens has undergone a major transformation, following a successful funding bid to the Enovert Community Fund.
The Bernard Oakley Friends Groups worked with Dudley Council and Ernest Stevens Trust to deliver the £45,000 project.
Work has revitalised the play area, which now includes a trim trail and new equipment with better accessibility for children with disabilities.
Councillor Damian Corfield, cabinet member for neighbourhoods, said: “I would like to thank The Friends group and the many volunteers for their dedication to make this project a reality.
“Prior to the work, the play area attracted around 5,000 visits annually but since completion, that number is estimated to more than doubled. The additional trim trail equipment and inclusive items has made a huge difference to children in the local area.”
Stephen Hill from The Friends of Bernard Oakley Group added: “The improved play facilities at Bernard Oakley have been incredibly well received,”
“The new equipment is not only visually appealing and safe, but also inclusive - providing stimulating and practical play opportunities for children of all abilities.”
