Dudley Council is calling on everyone across the borough to support older or vulnerable people through the coronavirus outbreak.

The council is working with partners to put a range of services in place to ensure that no vulnerable person in the community is left unsupported.

There’s lots of really useful information at dudley.gov.uk/coronavirusolderpeople for older or vulnerable people, their carers, relatives and friends. Councillor Nicholas Barlow, cabinet member for adult social care, said:

"We all have a duty of care to look after older or vulnerable people in our communities and there’s never been a time when this is more important than now. I would encourage everyone to check-in on their elderly relatives, neighbours and friends and find out if there’s anything you can do to help.

"You can find out more about supporting older or vulnerable people and how you can get involved in the community’s response at dudley.gov.uk/coronavirus. Dedicated phone lines have been set up to provide support where it’s most needed."

Older or vulnerable people who are feeling isolated can call Dudley Council’s 'Pleased to Meet You' service on 01384 812 761, Monday to Friday between 9am and 4pm for a friendly chat and advice about getting supplies.
