Himley Hall’s 12 days of Christmas

Festive artwork from more than 30 schools from across Dudley borough is set to go on display in the windows of the historic Himley Hall this December.

Hundreds of children from schools across Dudley borough have created artwork to celebrate the 12 days of Christmas as part of a range of Christmas celebrations at the hall.

Every school which has submitted artwork will have their images displayed in the windows of the prestigious hall, with the images transferred onto window vinyls. This technique allows the lights from the hall to illuminate the pictures from within, making them visible to visitors inside the hall and those taking a stroll in the grounds. Alan Lunt, deputy chief executive said:

"It’s wonderful that so many schools have participated in the 12 days of Christmas project. The project is one of many reasons to visit the Himley Hall and Park in the run up to Christmas, and I hope our visitors enjoy viewing the artwork on display and take the opportunity to escape the cold in our cosy coffee lounge."

The windows will be revealed at the hall’s Winter Lights event which will see the parkland illuminated. The event launches on Friday December 13, running until Sunday December 15 and is organised by Countrywide Events. Tickets can be purchased online.

The artwork will be displayed at the hall until early January. There’s also a Christmas exhibition running until Friday December 20 and the chance to but indulgent afternoon tea vouchers for Christmas.

Visitors can also enjoy refreshments in the Coffee Lounge, open Tuesday – Sunday 11am-4pm.  The lounge closes December 22 and reopens on January 3. However the park will be open through the festive season.
