Hit-and-run driver who killed Rowley Regis man still not found

A hit-and-run driver who killed a Rowley Regis man on an Oldbury carriageway has never been found, an inquest has heard.

Lorry driver Anthony Maskell, of Westgate Terrace, was already lying in the road, when he was struck by a Nissan Micra on Birchfield Lane in July last year.

An inquest into his death was held yesterday and showed he’d been drinking heavily.

Police say he was wearing dark clothing and it was possible the driver did not see him lying in the road. The search for the Nissan Micra continues.
