Police are investigating after three people were injured during an armed burglary at their home in Dudley.

Intruders drove a BMW through security gates at the address in Parkes Hall Road, Woodsetton, at around 7.10pm yesterday (19 June).

The occupants were threatened by someone with a gun and ordered to hand over cash.

A man in his 30s was stabbed in the leg. He was taken to hospital with injuries which are thankfully not believed to be life-threatening. A woman, also in her 30s, suffered arm injuries after being assaulted.

A suspect has been detained and will be questioned in due course.

A gun was recovered from the property and will be forensically examined. Detective Inspector Dean Kett, from Dudley CID, said:

"We’re in the early stages of our investigation into what was a terrifying situation.

"At this stage we don't believe anything was taken and we're working to identify a group of men who we understand fled in the BMW.

"We know this will have caused concern within the community and we'll be stepping up reassurance patrols in the area."

Anyone with information can contact officers via Live Chat on the West Midlands Police website, or by calling 101, and quoting 4886 of 19 June.
