Hospital evacuated after bomb scare

Russells Hall Hospital was evacuated earlier today after reports of a bomb scare.

West Midlands Police say they have arrested a man after a call was made this morning, after which the decision to evacuate was made by hospital officials. A spokesperson for the force confirmed:

"There was a call from someone claiming that there was a bomb at the hospital." He added the hospital decided to take the action to evacuate.

A 43-year-old man from Halesowen has been arrested in connection with the scare and is helping police with their enquiries.

No-one from Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust, which runs the hospital, off Pensnett High Street, was available to comment at this stage.
