Hundreds of Father Christmas lookalikes are expected in Mary Stevens Park next month, for the annual Santa Jog.
More than 1,000 people took part in last year’s event and organisers at Mary Stevens Hospice have already received a record number of entries.
The Hagley Road charity is even anticipating more people to sign up in advance as well as turn out on the day at the popular event, which this year takes place at 10.30am on Sunday, December 11.
Participants – as well as their four legged friends – can walk, jog or run the hospice’s 5km course while all dressed up as Santa himself. Amanda Bowen, community engagement officer, said:
“Our Santa Jog is such a fantastic occasion, and we’re blown away by the response once again this year.
“With a little bit of time still to go, we’ve already surpassed our highest ever number of registrations, which means more and more amazing local people will be coming together to support families in their hour of need.
“It’s a fantastic sight to see so many hundreds of Santas having a great time and taking over Mary Stevens Park, and we can’t wait to see everyone on December 11.”
Entry to the jog, which includes the Santa costume, costs £13.50 for adults, £7.50 for children, and £2.50 for dogs. Registration in advance can be done online by visiting msh.formstack.com/forms/santajog2016
