Spring cleaning isn’t just for homes, as viral jewellery hacks are sending searches soaring across the country with Dudley one of the top towns leading the Midlands.
From TikTok tutorials to Instagram reels, household tricks to restore shine are inspiring people to rediscover and refresh their treasured pieces.
New analysis by Deacons has revealed a 914% increase in “home jewellery cleaning” globally over the past year, according to Google Trends.
Analysis of 551 related search terms shows that residents of Dudley are leading the country in interest for cleaning their jewellery this spring, with a 6.4% rise since last year.
At the bottom of the table are Nottingham (-23.5%), Milton Keynes (-24%), and London (-29%), which recorded the largest falls in interest.
Lee Heaven, jewellery expert at Deacons, shared his top tips for keeping your pieces looking their best this season.
He said: “With social media making jewellery care trendy, more people are inspired to give their treasured pieces a new lease of life. It’s important to clean smart, not just fast.
“Spring cleaning isn’t just about tidying homes anymore; people are rediscovering their treasured jewellery. Each ring, bracelet or necklace tells a story, and with a little care and attention, these treasures can live again, carrying their beauty and meaning forward for years to come"
