June activities at Himley Hall and Park

People can enjoy a number of events at the Dudley Council run Himley Hall and Park next month.

On Sunday 2 June there will be the Country Fair and Vintage Transport Show from 10am to 4pm. The annual free admission event is set to be bigger and better than ever before with an exciting display of vintage vehicles and steam engines from across the country as well as a brand new country fair.

There will be an open day at the Earl of Dudley’s Memory Garden on Saturday 8 June from 11am to 4pm and on Sunday 9 June from 1pm to 3.30pm. The evocative Earl of Dudley’s private garden is the last resting place of actress Gertie Millar, wife of the second Earl of Dudley as well as the fourth Earl and his wife the film star Maureen Swanson. There will be stalls, organ music and refreshments on Saturday 8 June and people are advised there is a small admission charge to enter the Memory Garden.

On Sunday 9 June from 10am to 2pm people will be invited to Go Neon for Neonatal in a 4k colour dash to raise money for the DGNHS charity. There will be music and stalls on the day with fun for the whole family.

The West Midlands Light Orchestra will also perform a band concert in the park on Sunday 9 June from 2.30pm to 5pm.

Little ones can enjoy a wide range of activities and see Peppa Pig and George at this year’s Under 5s Day on Friday 28 June. Starting at 10am, the five hour event includes activities for babies and toddlers and will feature the famous Himley Beach. The ever popular Armed Forces Day will take place on Sunday 30 June from 11am to 5pm. The free event attracts thousands of people every year to celebrate the work of service men and women past and present. Councillor Ian Kettle, cabinet member responsible for halls, said: 

“Himley Hall and Park hosts a wide range of events and activities for all the family to enjoy and June looks set to be action packed with fun.

“i would recommend parents take advantage of the discounted tickets for the popular Under 5s Day by booking online in advance.” For 

Car parking charges apply at Himley Hall and Park. People are advised that some events have a £5 parking charge per event.
