Tipton Town libraries local history group will be launching their new heritage calendar at Dudley Archives on 5th September.
The calendar features a knitted tribute to William Perry, the Tipton Slasher, who was the bare knuckle Champion of England from 1850-1857 and is buried at St John's Church in Kate's Hill.
The knitted figure has been visiting many local attractions including the Titanic anchor at Netherton and is full of interesting Black Country facts.
Residents can book your place at the event, which is free to enter and features a talk on the Slasher's Tipton by local historian Keith Hodgkins and a showing of local history films.
A couple of golden tickets will be placed in calendars being sold at the launch, each one redeemable for a special gift donated by local firms.
