A local Harley-Davidson group, Wolfruna Chapter, returned to delivering presents for children in local hospitals, after last year's delivery was stalled due to the pandemic.

The presents have been collected by the bikers’ group over the last few weeks and stored at the Harley-Davidson store in Wolverhampton.

Several hundred presents were collected and delivered to children who will be staying in hospital over the Christmas period.

17 Harley-Davidson motorbikes along with Father Christmas set off from the Wolverhampton dealership on Saturday and delivered presents to New Cross, Walsall Manor and Russells Hall Hospital in Dudley. Assistant Director, Paul Brothwood said:

“We were mindful that things would have to be a little bit different due to Covid but wanted to ensure the children stopping in hospital received their presents. We were able to pass the presents to nurses who took them onto the wards for the children.

“It was good to speak with staff who are doing a tremendous job, our group was so pleased that we were able to bring some festive joy. I believe staff and patients were cheered up with delivery. We look forward to coming back next year."

Wolfruna Chapter’s Director, Mark Cutler added: “It was very good of Santa to find the time to accompany us on our Harleys to deliver these presents.

"There were a few surprised faces as went travelled down the Black Country Route! We had a lot of fun and the children really enjoyed seeing Santa as well as the Harley-Davidson’s."
