Local cafe donates a hamper of essentials to local food bank

A Black Country cafe has donated a hamper for a food bank run by a nearby church - and staff are now looking for donations for another.

Kind-hearted staff and customer at Sam's Bostin Bites in Highgate Street, Old Hill handed over food and toiletries during December and were able to present a bumper hamper to St James' Church.

Owner, Sam Devonport, said: “We are always looking at ways to help the local community, and this hamper was for a great cause."

Sue Haggart, secretary and treasurer at St James', added: “These donations have enabled us to assist people in desperate need of help at a very low point in their lives.

“Our heartfelt thanks go to all who donated."

Sam’s Bostin Bites has now begun a new food bank collection. Any donations will be gratefully received, with items including in-date tins, dry goods and toiletries welcome.

Donations can be taken to the cafe during opening hours.
