Local maintenance worker celebrates £30k lottery windfall

A Dudley resident is celebrating after learning he has netted a £30,000 cash prize with People’s Postcode Lottery.

The surprise comes after his postcode, DY2 0YD, was announced as a winner with the lottery on Thursday 6th May.

Adrian Goodaker (56) first learned he had scooped the prize during a video call with lottery ambassador Danyl Johnson. When a prize cheque with his winnings was revealed he said:

“Fantastic! A lot of zeroes, that is bonkers! There’s lots of things we need to do, so we will sort things out.

“There’s lots of work that needs doing on the house, the garden front and back needs to be done. I might even change my car and get a holiday booked. Obviously, it’s been difficult with everything that’s been going on but if we just have a holiday in the UK it would be something to look forward to!”

Everyday throughout the April and May draws one postcode will be announced as a £30,000 prize winner. All the players in the postcode will win £30,000 for every ticket they hold.

People’s Postcode Lottery costs £10 a month to play and there are guaranteed winners every day. People play with their chosen postcode and are automatically entered into all draws. A minimum of 32% of ticket sales goes directly to charities and players of People’s Postcode Lottery have helped raise over £700 million to date for thousands of good causes across Britain and internationally.
