Local MP praises new Stourbridge retailer

Stourbridge MP, Suzanne Webb has officially opened a new clothes shop in the town.

Suzanne cut the ribbon at Arhams in the Ryemarket on Friday after being invited by the owner Irfan Tahir to do the honours.

The businessman has run successful clothes shops in East London but has now decided to branch out into the West Midlands. He chose Stourbridge because he feels there is a gap in the market to sell clothes for more mature women. Suzanne said:

“It was a pleasure to open this new shop and I wish Irfan the very best of luck. The pandemic has made it an incredibly difficult time for the high street and clothes retailers. But there are also opportunities for entrepreneurs to find gaps in the market and make a success of it.

“We certainly need to see more shops opening in our high streets across the constituency. I hope this is the first of many now that we are returning to normal.”

Irfan added: ““It was really a pleasure to have Suzanne with us here for the opening and it has cheered the members of staff on. We talked about the business and our future plans and she showed great interest in how things operate.”
