A recruiter from Bilston is in with a chance of scooping a national award at a ceremony in London.
Philip Hocking, who works as a Next Generation Talent Consultant with Lloyds Banking Group has been shortlisted for the Exceptional Inclusion Award at the the Ethnicity Awards 2026.
The nomination recognises Philip's work supporting inclusion, social mobility, volunteering and community engagement, both through his professional role and through wider activity within local communities.
Philip said: "My journey has been anything but straightforward. I've worked as a chef, teacher and apprentice before building a career focused on creating opportunities for others.
"I'm also autistic and have ADHD, having received both diagnoses in adulthood, and I'm passionate about helping people see that there is no single route to success.
"As somebody who grew up in Wolverhampton and continues to live in the Black Country, I hope the story demonstrates that people from our communities can achieve national recognition while staying connected to where they came from."
The Ethnicity Awards recognise individuals, groups, and organisations for their exceptional commitment and impact in advancing inclusion, diversity, and belonging over the past 12 months.
The winners will be announced at a ceremony at the London Marriott Hotel in October.
