Mad O'Rourke's launches takeaway service

Lovers of hearty traditional pub food will benefit from the launch of a new takeaway service by a famous Midlands pie maker.

Mad O’Rourke’s Pie Factory, regarded as a Black County institution for more than 30 years, has introduced “pies-to-go” for its customers during the lockdown.

The firm, whose restaurant and bar are temporarily closed, is offering the service from its quirky venue in Tipton, which has previously played host to performances by top comedians including Frank Skinner and Victoria Wood.

Mad O’Rourke’s takeaway menu features some of its best-selling pies including 100% Bullocks steak pie, Posh ‘N’ Becks (steak and stilton), a Minted lamb pie called Wham Bam, Thank You Lamb and an Eeeny Meeny Beeny chilli bean pie as a vegan option. Owner, Peter Towler, who also co-founded Birmingham’s 'Dig Brew Co' brewery, said:

“We are delighted to be able to offer our customers the opportunity to enjoy our world-famous pies in the comfort of their homes. Our hearty freshly baked traditional pies provide the ultimate comfort food during the ongoing lockdown – and our frozen options are ideal for storing in the freezer to enjoy another day.”

Mad O’Rourke’s is accepting pre-paid orders by phone only on 0121 557 1402. Collection times are between 5pm and 9pm, between Thursday and Saturday, with parking available to ensure a contact-free service.
