A man's been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman was found dead at a house in Netherton last night.
Police were called to Cinder Bank just after 8.15pm where the woman, believed to be in her 40s, was found seriously injured. Ambulance crews arrived but nothing could be done to save her and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 50-year-old man was arrested at the address and taken to hospital where he is recovering from head injuries. His condition is described as stable.
The couple are thought to be known to each other.
