Man charged after Black Country armed raids

A man has been charged in connection with armed raids at two shops in the Black Country.

Ian Campbell was arrested on Monday (26 March) soon after an attempted robbery at Waterfront Convenience Store, Dudley Road, Brierley Hill, at around 9.40pm.

The 33-year-old has now been charged with the offence and possession of an imitation firearm.

Campbell, of Beech Crescent, Tipton, has also been charged in relation to a robbery at News & Booze, Ablewell Street, Walsall on 6 March.

He is also accused of administering a noxious liquid and possession of an imitation firearm.

Campbell has been remanded in custody to appear before Wolverhampton Crown Court on 24 April.
