Man charged with attempted murder after stabbing at Himley Hall

A man has been charged with attempted murder and wounding after a stabbing incident at Himley Hall.

The incident, which happened just before 8pm on Sunday 16th July, saw a 30-year-old woman and her eight-year-old son taken to hospital.

The woman suffered multiple stab wounds and the boy had an arm injury but their injuries were not life threatening and police have stressed the incident was not a random attack.

Ralph Foster, aged 55, from Dudley, was arrested and has now been charged with attempted murder and section 18 wounding with intent.

Foster, of Bayswater Road, was also charged with aggravated vehicle taking, using a motor vehicle without third party insurance, using a motor vehicle without a licence, possession of a bladed item in a public place and interfering with a motor vehicle - endangering a road user.

He has been remanded into custody and is due to appear before magistrates in Cannock this morning. 

Witnesses to the incident are asked to call police on the 101 number, quoting incident number 798 of 16 July.
