A man has been charged with sexual assault after a woman was attacked in Dudley.
The woman, in her 50s, was walking down Brierley Hill High Street at around 11.30pm on Friday 8th August, before she was attacked in an alleyway near Hill Street.
She managed to strike the attacker and get away from him before calling the police.
Following urgent enquiries, a suspect was identified and tracked by CCTV operators. He was arrested on King Street following a short foot chase, just over an hour after the attack. The woman is being supported by officers.
Arez Omer, aged 39, was charged with sexual assault and exposure, and has been remanded in custody to appear before Wolverhampton magistrates this morning.
