Man dies after being hit by bus near Russells Hall Hospital

A man has died after being hit by a double decker bus near to Russells Hall Hospital.

West Midlands Police and West Midlands Fire Service were called to the scene on Kingswinford Road yesterday afternoon following reports that a man had been hit and dragged under a vehicle.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and specialist firefighters from the Technical Rescue unit worked to free the victims body.

West Midlands Police said in a statement: “We are investigating after a man died after being struck by a bus at just before midday on Thursday.

“Officers were called to the collision at the junction of Kingswinford Road and Bushey Fields Road where the man was sadly pronounced dead by medics. 

“The driver remained at the scene and helped police with their enquiries.

“Anyone with dashcam footage from around the time of the incident, or any information that may help, is also being asked to get in contact on 101, or via Live Chat on our website quoting log 1947 of 29 January.”
