Man hospitalised after Cradley Heath takeaway incident

A man in his 50s has been taken to hospital after he was stabbed in a Cradley Heath takeaway.

Police say the victim was slashed across the arm in an incident on Wednesday evening, which saw a group of up to 10 armed men cause damage to the restaurant.

West Midlands Ambulance Service sent an ambulance and two paramedic officers to the scene after being alerted just before 9:45pm. A spokesman for the Service said:

"On arrival we discovered one male patient who was treated for a serious injury, not believed to be life-threatening, before being taken to hospital for further assessment."

West Midlands Police have been checking CCTV to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident. A spokesperson for the force said:

"We were called to disorder at a fast food restaurant in High Street, Cradley Heath, just before 9.40pm yesterday.

"A group of up to 10 armed men caused damage to the property, and a man in his 50s was slashed across the arm. He was taken to hospital with injuries which are not life-threatening."
