A man’s in custody after officers recovered drugs and knives from a car in Stourbridge.

The car was spotted in Brierley Hill just after 6pm on Easter Sunday, and failed to stop for officers.

The vehicle went on to overtake several vehicles at speed, before going onto the wrong side of the road and colliding with a car at the junction of Hungary Hill and Birmingham Street in Stourbridge.

The car was badly damaged but thankfully no one was seriously hurt.

Following the collision, the driver ran off and was chased by officers on foot.

A man, aged 19, was arrested nearby on suspicion of dangerous driving.

A search of the car then led to the discovery of two knives and a large amount of suspected Class A drugs – which the man will also be questioned about in due course.

Anyone who saw what happened or who has information about this incident should contact police on 101 or via Live Chat, quoting log 2973 of 5 April.
