Man rushed to hospital after Dudley attack

Police and ambulance staff locked down a Black Country street today after a man was found with a serious head injury.

Emergency services were alerted to reports of an assault at around 10:30am this morning. The victim, who has not been named, has been taken to hospital with a serious head wound.

No arrests have been made but enquries are continuing to find out what happened. A spokesman for West Midlands Police said:

"A man has been taken to hospital with serious head injuries after being assaulted on Smith Street, Dudley this morning. 

"We have launched an investigation and asking for anyone with information to contact us via Live Chat on our website or by calling 101, quoting log 1167 of 19/2. Information can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service added:

"We were called at 10:35am to reports of an assault in Buffery Road, Dudley. We sent two ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance Critical Care car to the scene.

"On arrival, crews found one patient, a man. He was treated for potentially serious injuries and was conveyed to hospital for further treatment."
