Man who went to family's home armed with knife avoids jail

A Netherton man who terrified a family when he went to their home armed with a knife has avoided a jail sentence at Wolverhampton Crown Court.

Daniel Thomson had been drinking heavily and punched a hole in the victim’s front door because he felt they’d been sending insulting Facebook messages about his girlfriend's family.

25 year-old Thompson, of Copse Road, admitted affray and possessing the knife and was given a 16 month jail sentence, suspended for two years.
