Mary Stevens Hospice Pantomime returns later this month

Peter Pan and Captain Hook will battle it out on stage in The Mary Stevens Hospice Pantomime Company’s fifth fundraising pantomime; Peter Pan.

Just 17% of the Hospice's £3.5 million annual running costs is provided by the Government, so looking for a new and exciting way to raise extra cash, the Hospice fundraising team decided to produce a pantomime.

From this idea, The Mary Stevens Hospice Pantomime Company was born and, from their first production in 2018, they have worked hard to make their annual fundraising productions grow from strength to strength.

Since then, the productions have seen more special effects, more shows in each run and they now attract the attention of celebrities and industry leading businesses who want to be involved. Leigh Yeomans, Head of People’s Services at PRG UK said:

“PRG take our responsibilities around community and charitable support very seriously. As a large multi-national company, based in the heart of the Midlands, it’s important that we use the resources we have to benefit the communities that need them the most.

"We are very proud to be associated with The Mary Stevens Hospice, a relationship that goes from strength to strength each year. We are also extremely proud of our staff, who bring so many opportunities to support local Charites to the table."

This year’s swashbuckling pantomime, Peter Pan, will see X Factor star, Christopher Maloney bring the role of Captain Hook to life. He will be joined on stage by Gogglebox favourite, Sandi Bogle who will play the Magical Mermaid in a production filled with traditional comedy, spectacular special effects and popular songs. Amanda Bowen, Producer and Head of Fundraising at the Hospice added:

“At The Mary Stevens Hospice, we rely on the income raised by our passionate community to fund the vital services we provide, free of charge to those who need it.

"To bring such a fantastic pantomime to our local theatre once again and put a smile on the faces of those who support us, has become so important to us, our community and the families who rely on our care.”

Peter Pan will run from February 15th to 22nd at Stourbridge Town Hall. More information and tickets can be found on the Borough Hall's website.
