The team at Mary Stevens Hospice will be helping locals recycle their real Christmas tree once the festivities have finished, through their annual Treecycle event.
The Hospice fundraising team and their band of go-green elves will be our and about collecting real Christmas trees from in and around the Borough between 5th – 8th January 2023.
The event which is sponsored by Enterprise and supported by Timber Tim will kick start the Hospice’s fundraising efforts for the year. And with over £25,000 raised from this year’s event, staff hope that the 2023 collection will exceed all expectations. Amanda Bowen, Head of Fundraising and Lottery at Mary Stevens Hospice said:
"Our Treecycle initiative is becoming a seasonal tradition in the Black Country as our volunteers take to the streets to collect real Christmas trees to recycle and raise funds for the Hospice.
“Volunteers are at the heart of our campaign and we welcome help from anyone, should they wish to join a treeee-mendous Treecycle team and help us make a difference to the lives of local people living with a life limiting illness.”
It's easy to get involved in the campaign and saves you from getting your car covered in pine needles! Simply register online or over the telephone and ensure that you tree is left outsideyour property, free of lights and decorations on the evening of 4th January. Your tree will then be collected by Hospice volunteers between 5th - 8th January.
This year, the service will be collecting from the following postcodes: B62, B63, B64, DY1, DY2, DY3, DY4, DY5, DY6, DY7, DY8, DY9, DY10, DY11, WV5
