Medic takes on The Wall for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity

West Midland’s Ambulance Service technician Jonny Boyd will take on the iconic 85-miles of Hadrian’s Wall Path to raise money for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.

On Wednesday 15th April, he will be attempting to complete to coast-to-coast route across northern England in under 24-hours.

Tackling the route solo, Jonny will be running and hiking to push through both the mental and physical demands of ‘The Wall’.

The challenge is in aid of Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, a vital service that works alongside WMAS, providing advanced pre-hospital emergency care and rapid response across the region. The charity relies heavily on public donations to maintain its lifesaving operations.

WMAS colleagues and the wider emergency services community are rallying behind Jonny as he prepares for the demanding event, which will test endurance, resilience, and determination across rugged terrain and unpredictable conditions.

Jonny said: “I see first hand the incredible work carried out by the Midlands Air Ambulance crews and how critical their role is in saving lives.

"This challenge is my way of giving back and helping ensure they can continue to be there when people need them most. It’s going to be tough, but absolutely worth it.”
