People in Dudley borough will be able to enjoy a series of fun and helpful events this autumn, dedicated to celebrating a fitter and happier later life.
Following the success of the first Ageing Well Festival in 2023, the events will run from 29 September to 5 October.
Residents aged 40 and over are invited to take part in more than 100 activities designed to support wellbeing, social connection, and active lifestyles in later life.
The activities will be hosted by community groups and organisations and are taking place in different venues across the borough, with some sessions needing to be pre-booked.
The programme includes a mix of informative and interactive sessions on crafts, exercise, digital skills, wellness and more.
Cllr Andrea Goddard, cabinet member responsible for health, attended a local walking session this week ahead of the festival. She said: “It was joyous to take part in the Russells Hall Ramble today and to meet some of the fantastic people who are helping others in the community to stay active and healthy for longer.
“The Ageing Well Festival is a brilliant celebration of later life – it’s about staying active, connected and curious, no matter your age.
“I hope people will take advantage of this local opportunity to try something new, meet others, and feel inspired about what ageing well can really look like.”
The full programme of events taking place during the Ageing Well Festival is available on the Healthy Dudley website.
The next Russells Hall Ramble takes place on 6 October, the day after the festival closes, but people interested in the festival events are still welcome to attend the open session.
