More than 2,000 enjoy Dudley Pride celebrations

Vibrant colour, music and celebration filled Stone Street Square on Saturday as around 2,500 people throughout the day enjoyed Dudley Pride.

The day featured a packed line-up of entertainment with BBC’s RuPaul’s Drag Race UK series two winner, Tia Kofi headlining the event.

The free event, sponsored by Haystoun, also welcomed back popular artists including crowd favourite Karl M with Best of the Boybands anthems, Bedazzle from Priory House with showstopping songs from WMYT West Midlands Youth Theatre and queer, riot girrrl band Temper Tantrum.

Visitors also enjoyed more than 30 stalls offering crafts, food and activities, along with face painting, glitter tattoos and street performers.

Councillor Pete Lowe, Mayor of Dudley, said: “Dudley Pride continues to go from strength to strength, bringing people together in a vibrant celebration of inclusivity, diversity and community.

“It was fantastic to see so many residents and visitors enjoying the entertainment, and the atmosphere throughout the day was incredible.

“Our Pride events continue to raise awareness of inclusivity and visibility of our LGBTQ+ community across all aspects of our lives.”
