MP learns about the lifting industry on visit to Crosby Premier Stampings

Halesowen and Rowley Regis MP, James Morris visited Crosby Premier Stampings to learn more about their work and the importance of safe practices in the lifting industry.

Meeting with Ashley Hall, Area Sales Manager for Crosby and a Director of the Lifting Equipment Engineers Association, and with Robert Wilson, Head of Member Engagement Services for the LEEA, James was given a talk on Global Lifting Awareness Day which is coming up on 9th July, and got to learn about how parts manufactured by Crosby can make rigging safer.

James also had the opportunity to see the safe rigging trailer that Crosby have been taking out to their end users, with UK manufactured components, and enjoyed a demonstration. James said:

"I always enjoy the opportunity to meet local businesses in my constituency, and it was great to visit the Crosby Group today and see their safe rigging trailer in action.

“It’s important that companies follow the correct procedures to ensure the health and wellbeing of their employees, and it was great to see a local business leading the way in safe rigging, and showing support for the upcoming Global Lifting Awareness Day.”

Ashley Hall, Crosby Group Area Sales Manager, added: “The Crosby Group is proud to support LEEA’s GLAD22 program, bringing awareness of the Lifting Industry to the general public.

"Lifting occurs in many areas that are not even considered dangerous, yet could easily cause damage to persons or property. Using the Rigging Trailer, we are able to demonstrate what can go wrong with lifting, and its consequences, in a controlled environment.”
