MP praises ambitious pupils on visit to Crestwood School

Dudley South MP, Mike Wood, has praised the ambition and professional attitude of Crestwood School students after meeting the prefect team on a recent visit to the school.

Mr Wood met with a number of the school’s prefects and took questions from students as part of a question-and-answer session on a range of national and local topics. Following the visit, Mr Wood said:

“I’ve really enjoyed my visit today – meeting with some of the school’s pupils, taking questions on all sorts of topics, and hearing how they see ambition as being critical to their future success, and the success of other younger people, here in Dudley South.

“Mr Sutton and the rest of the team at Crestwood are clearly working really hard to encourage students to start early when it comes to thinking about their career ambitions.

"With great teaching and brilliant access to Army Cadets and other enrichment opportunities here at Crestwood, students rightly see no limits on those ambitions.”

Headteacher, Phil Sutton added: “It was great to hear Mr. Wood answer questions ranging from environmental issues to education.

"Mr. Wood also spoke about the aspirations of young people in Dudley and the skills needed in an ever-changing job market.

“It was a really informative morning for our students, and we are hoping that some of them will be visiting Westminster in the near future.”
