Netherton man charged with string of traffic and theft offences

A Netherton man’s been charged with a series of traffic and theft offences following a police pursuit which began in Dudley.

John Field was arrested in the Oldbury area on Saturday night and questioned over a string of alleged crimes.

The 27-year-old was charged with 13 offences including burglary, theft of motor vehicles, handling stolen goods, bilking, and aiding dangerous driving relating to a pursuit that started in Selbourne Road, Dixons Green, last Wednesday (7 March).

Field, of Summerfield Road, Netherton, appeared before Walsall Magistrates Court yesterday morning.

An 18-year-old man arrested on suspicion of car theft and failing to stop for traffic officers has been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
