Netherton man charged with wife's murder

A Netherton man's due in court charged with the murder of his wife, who was found at a house in Dudley late last week.

56-year-old Paul Abbott, from Lodge Crescent, was arrested after his wife Jackie was found with serious head injuries at their property on Friday afternoon.

Police had been called following reports of disorder at around 4:30pm. They found Mrs. Abbott at the property and she was pronounced dead a short time later.

Mr. Abbott was then taken into custody and charged over the weekend.

He's due to appear before Dudley Magistrates Court.

A post-mortem examination is underway to establish the cause of Mrs. Abbott's death.

Tributes have been left to her by friends on Facebook.
