New arrivals with a difference at Dudley Zoo

A number of new animals have arrived at Dudley Zoo and Castle just in time for the school holidays, but these ones are made out of toy bricks!

This summer, visitors to the Castle Hill attraction can discover a trail of incredible life-sized brick endangered animals around the zoo’s 40-acres, including an African elephant, giant panda and gorilla.
 
Zoo Director Matt Lewis, said: “We’re really excited to bring this brick trail to DZC for the first time this summer and we thank K2 Services for joining us as our headline sponsor.
 
“As an animal conservation charity, raising awareness of endangered species and what we can do to help their survival is key and we hope these amazing statues, alongside our 140 real animal species, will provide a new opportunity for us to do that.”
 
Visitors can pick up a free trail sheet at the entrance to complete along the route, for the chance to win a DZC goodie bag each week of the holidays.
 
Brick fans can also purchase their own DZC brick souvenir to take home, with mini make and take packs of some of the zoo’s most popular species, including a tiger, flamingo, giraffe and orangutan.
 
Elsewhere on site, visitors can explore the 11th century Dudley Castle, learn more about the animals during Presenter-led daily talks, take part in crafts in the Discovery Centre, enjoy the playgrounds and sandpit, as well as riding the free vintage aerial chairlift and land train.
