Dudley Council’s fifth project to build private homes for sale in Dudley is nearing completion.
The council is building on the success of its previous developments, which saw 59 homes built and sold across four sites.
In this most recent project, four homes have been built on the Himley Road in Dudley on the site of a former garage site.
Each new home is detached with three or four bedrooms and ideal for families.
The local authority appointed J. Harper and Sons Ltd to build the homes on its behalf.
Proceeds made from the sale of the homes will be reinvested into council services.
The homes are being marketed through the Sedgley office of Taylors Estate Agents. Councillor Laura Taylor-Childs, cabinet member for housing and safer communities, said:
“We have a proven track-record in successfully building homes for private sale after we built 59 properties across four developments before the pandemic.
“This is the fifth development of this nature, and although this is smaller in scale, it is making the most of the plot of land available and maximising income opportunities for the council.
Ryan Cockering, senior contracts manager at J. Harper and Sons Ltd, added: “We are pleased to have partnered with Dudley Council to achieve their goal of delivering high-quality properties to the borough of Dudley.
“Working collaboratively on this development, we’re proud to have successfully constructed more homes in the area which reflects the needs of its residents.”
New council homes are also being built across a number of sites in the borough.
